I. I GOT THIS PEARL

I got this grain
I've been cryin'
I got this grain in my gut
I got this pearl I've been cryin' over for years
I got this grain in my gut
I got this pearl I've been cryin' over for years
I got this grain
I got this pearl I've been cryin' over for years

It's just an accident of childhood
Foolishness and the love of god
That's been tormenting me for years
I got this grain in my gut
I got this pearl

I got this pearl
That somehow became precious
Some foreign mind
Not my kind
Tore me open and took it
Took it
That's my unwilling gift of beauty
Beauty

And I will never do it again, man
All it was, was grit in my gut to start with
To start with
To start with
And at its luminous best
It crowded my sleep at night
I got this pearl

II. SPOONFEED BEAUTY?

Was this custom designed just to suffocate a mind on fire?
This swamping swarming formless indifference, oh!
This is bushes choking in vine water bog haze
This is a waddling Mother Sister Aunt Wife Bitch Anybody's
Head tilted
Reeking like fat porkchop-eating sweat on godforsaken August weekday
Shufflin' in dust or rain
Gets high on TV like roaches eating wire gnawing bones of
Pigs and society
Like the whinin' rich boy 'cross the tracks, same track
Wants to settle
Make do
He would sit blear- and puff-eyed as a conjuress of love
Stains his daughter's trousseau
As he gives up life

Spoonfeed beauty?
Good lord, yes!
But first you must fertilize the poor little suckers
Water them with tears sweat and other sweet cosmetics
Assault!
Assualt is purely natural
Burn them, burn them like the sun
Flood them like (the) darkest clouds
Take them to your extremes
Test those poor little suckers
Then proclaim
Your mutual Proven Glory & Ascendance
Slip the final magic potion in the glory gulp of wine
That would be : Real Music
In the midst of
Nearly what the lambs would have thought was close to what they should have wanted?
The lambs bleat and gulp in surprise
The potion engaged
Blood enriched
The song encounters
Innocent Ignorant Sweet Receptivity
Slipped in
The philosopher's hand
The musical hand
On the deaf unthinking virgin's breast
Quite by surprise
Then
It is love
Or discord
As ever
